Greetings friends, family, and anyone else that drops in on this blog site. I am Tom Rollins of Bristow, Virginia. Music is a hobby of mine. I am pretty much self taught. I play guitar reasonably well and can hammer out some chords on a keyboard. But, I especially like the challenge of composing songs.
A couple of years ago, I started a personal project to put music to some Catholic prayers, initially to use the words of the prayers as inspiration to exercise my music writing skills. I am quite satisfied with the results. This blog is a partial compilation of that project. In addition to these songs published, I have several more in differing stages of production which I will add in the near future as they are completed.
Speaking of production, All of the songs were recorded in my basement using a Tascam 8 track portable digital recorder, using just the built in speakers. This recorder allows me to record up to 8 tracks (the most I’ve used is 3)and mix them into a single stereo file. I use a classical acoustic Guitar, an electronic keyboard, and my own, barely acceptable voice. A pretty bare bones set up, but I am pleased with the final results; at least a decent demo quality.
Thanks for taking time at my blog, God Bless, and say a little prayer every day( God probably has something to say to you).
